One Person Challenge

Day 1: Pray by name

Ask God to open a door, give you genuine love, and help you notice what He is already doing.

Mission begins with dependence, not pressure.

Pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ. - Colossians 4:3

Try saying: Jesus, show me how to love this person well and give me one natural open door.

Day 2: Listen without rushing

Ask one real question and stay curious. Learn what brings them joy, what feels heavy, or what they are hoping for.

People are not projects. Listening is one way love becomes visible.

Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry. - James 1:19

Try saying: How are you really doing lately?

Day 3: Put love in motion

Do one practical thing that fits the relationship: encourage, help, share a meal, show up, or remember a need.

Practical care should be sincere, not a transaction for attention.

Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. - 1 John 3:18

Try saying: You mentioned that this week was heavy. Is there one way I can help?

Day 4: Share one honest sentence

Tell them naturally what Jesus means to you or how He has met you in something relevant to the conversation.

Your story illustrates hope without pretending your life is perfect.

Always be prepared to give an answer ... for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. - 1 Peter 3:15

Try saying: Something that has helped me in seasons like that is knowing Jesus is with me.

Day 5: Make Jesus clear

When the door is open, explain the good news simply: God loves us, sin separates us, Jesus died and rose, and we can respond by faith.

Kindness matters, and people also deserve to know why Jesus is good news.

I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes. - Romans 1:16

Try saying: Would you be open to hearing the simple reason Jesus gives me hope?

Day 6: Open a next step

Offer prayer, another conversation, Scripture, a gathering, or a chance to explore Jesus together.

A gentle invitation gives the person freedom and makes the next step concrete.

Come and see. - John 1:46

Try saying: Could I pray with you, or would you want to talk about this again over coffee?

Day 7: Remember and follow up

Keep your word. Check in, remember the need, and continue caring whether or not the conversation went as planned.

Evangelism becomes discipleship when people are remembered.

Try saying: I was thinking about what you shared. How has this week been?

One Person Challenge questions

What is the One Person Challenge?

The One Person Challenge is a seven-day Christian evangelism plan that helps you pray for, listen to, serve, share Jesus with, invite, and follow up with one person already in your life.

What if I do not complete every step in seven days?

The days provide a simple rhythm, not a deadline for another person's spiritual journey. Move at the pace of trust, repeat a step when needed, and never force a Gospel conversation.

How do I share Jesus without making someone feel like a project?

Love the person without conditions. Listen carefully, serve sincerely, ask permission before sharing or praying, honour their response, and keep being a faithful friend whether or not they agree with you.

What if they ask a question I cannot answer?

It is honest to say you do not know. Thank them for the question, offer to learn together, and keep the relationship open. Your credibility does not depend on having every answer.
