Why We're Raising Funds for an Outreach Van
Our trailer is overflowing with donations. Here's why a cargo van would put Love on Hamilton on the streets more days than Tuesday — and how you can help, even without giving.
We have a good problem. Over the last few years God has given Love on Hamilton and Love on The World more donations than we know what to do with — Bibles, tracts, clothing, food, hygiene kits. People in this city are generous.
The problem is where it all lives. Our outreach trailer is full to the ceiling. Things get buried, some get damaged by weather, and every Tuesday a chunk of the night goes to digging for what we need instead of handing it to the person in front of us.
What a van changes
It protects what people gave. Shelving and a sealed cargo space mean Bibles stay dry, clothes stay clean, and food stays safe until the moment it's needed.
It multiplies the nights. Right now outreach is tied to one trailer and one tow vehicle, so it mostly happens on Tuesday. With a van, more than one driver can take the van and trailer out on other days of the week. Same team, same heart — more nights on the streets.
It serves the events. Through the year we support community events and gatherings like Jesus Festival. A van gets supplies there in one trip instead of three.
It reaches beyond Hamilton. Outreach groups are running and starting in the surrounding cities. A van lets us resource them too.
